Ruth Castellon Borowiec, at the young age of 74 passed away on Sunday, December 21st at 11:30am. She was born in Managua Nicaragua to Gonzalo Castellon Mora and Candelaria Castellon Escobar until the age of 4. Her family then moved to Costa Rica and raised there until the age of 12. In 1952 her and her sister came to this country where they were then raised in San Francisco, CA.

Ruth graduated in 1959 from St. Vincent High School and met Manuel Borowiec January 1st, 1964 and they were married the same year on November 28th at the Mission Dolores Church. She went on to have 3 loving children and 7 equally loving grandchildren.

Ruth (Amore) graduated from Santa Rosa Jr. College and Sonoma State University and gained her degree in accounting. She work for many years both at different jobs and as a homemaker until moving to Arizona where she continued to be the accountant for one of her favorite clients. Amore, as she was lovingly known by her husband, loved to paint, garden and tend to her many cockatiel birds, her turtle Corazon and Lexi, their precious kitty.

Ruth was also lovingly referred to as Maca or Gemma by her grandchildren and loved to spend time with each and everyone of them. She loved to Laugh, sing and dance. She would turn on the music and was caught many time strutting her stuff right where she stood. Often you could hear her say "I like this song, it has a good beat". She loved her religion and joyful proclaimed her devotion to being a Catholic member. Amore held tight to memories and traditions and was dedicated to her family. Friends were equally as important to her and her heart held no bounds. She was humble and caring, loving and giving, she held no ill will towards anyone and all who met her were touch deeply by her smile and dainty voice.

Ruth is survived by her life-long love of 50 years, Manuel Borowiec, son Manuel Jr., daughter and son in-law Michele and Richard; son Jean-Paul, grandchildren Joshua, Zachary, Victoria, Ryan, Rachel, Jamie, Alexandra, her sister and brother in-law Zaira and Humberto, nieces Jennifer and Jacqueline, grand nieces Kayla, Marisol, Gabriela, and all other family members and friends.

For 74 years our mother, wife and sister has been more than just that. She was a teacher, a comforter, a warm embrace and comforting thought. She could brighten up a room with her smile and laughter, her energy for life will live with us and through us all. I will miss my best friend, my confidant, my hero but most of all I will miss her hands touching mine, caressing my face and making me feel loved, wanted and needed. Please remember her for what she meant to you, for there is no greater gift in life then honoring those in death!!!
