Robert "Bob" L. Robertson, 70, of Glendale, died February 7, 2013. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 25, 1942, to the late Luther A. Robertson and Gussie M. (Birchfield) Rodriguez. He grew up in the Oakland, California area. He received an AA degree from Glendale Community College. Bob was a Civil Engineer in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam war; he earned a Purple Heart during his time of service to our Country. From 1977 to 1981 he served on the Governing Board for Maricopa County Community Colleges. He loved all kinds of outdoor activities, especially going to the firing range with his friends. He is survived by daughter, Michelle Robertson and her husband Hal Fry of Beaverton, Oregon; son, Sean Robertson and his wife Kim of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Jennifer and Kyle Hubler of Beaverton, Oregon; step-mother Lorraine Robertson of Dallas, Texas; brother, Charles A. Robertson of Dallas, Texas; sister, Debra Pennington of Mesa, Arizona; and many beloved friends. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on February 19, 2013 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Disabled American Veterans or the Maricopa County Community College Foundation in Bob's memory.
