Heart Emblem

It is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Phyllis Joan Lawellin. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in Surprise Arizona, after a decade's long battle against the scourge of a disease, we call cancer. While we are heartbroken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she will no longer suffer through the pain and indignities that she courageously endured, as a result of her two decades battle against this terrible disease, in its varied forms.
She came into this world on August 17, 1937, in the small town of Dombey, Oklahoma, the seventh of eight children, born to John and Mildred Mosel Hall. She met and married the love of her life, Delos "Junior" Lawellin on September 22, 1954, in Liberal, Kansas. Their first child, a daughter, Debra Jean Lawellin was born the following year, but died of health complications very shortly after birth. Over the course of the next several years there would be other children to follow: Randy Wayne Lawellin, Douglas Allen Lawellin, and Bradly Dwayne Lawellin and in 1961, finally another daughter Verda Gayle Lawellin. She will be remembered most fondly for her unwavering love, unconditional support and commitment to her family, in good times and in bad.
Married for more than 50 years, she was preceded in death by her husband "Junior" on October 13, 2004, as well as her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children Randy of Phoenix Arizona, Douglas of Indian Wells California, Bradly of Phoenix Arizona and Gayle of Surprise Arizona, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. As was her wish, her body will be cremated. There will be a memorial service held at Sunwest Funeral Home, 12525 NW Grand Avenue El Mirage, Arizona 85335, at 10:00am on Saturday November 1, 2044, which will be open to any who wish to attend and pay their final respects.
