Maira Barraza-Nevarez, age 27, of Surprise, AZ went to be with the Lord on the morning of June 30, 2014. Maira was on her way to work when she was involved in a vehicular accident. Maira was born on September 24, 1986 in Phoenix, Arizona to Jose and Haide (Celaya-Quiroz) Barraza. Maira was happily married in 2007 to Juan Jose Nevarez. Maira was currently enrolled at Arizona State University. She was pursuing her Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Criminology with only one class left to complete. She aspired to become an attorney and her ultimate goal was to be a judge. Maira was very poetic and inspirational in her writing. She touched people's hearts with her words. Maira was direct, expressed what she felt, and everyone loved her for it. Maira was compassionate, loving, and always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She enjoyed reading inspirational quotes and hung them around the house to inspire her daily. One of her favorite quotes was, "The greatest happiness in life is to love and be loved." Maira's pride and joy were her loving husband and three beautiful boys. Her whole family was her life. God lent us an angel and has now taken her back home where she will rest until we meet again.
Maira is survived by her sons John Isaac (7), Daniel Jose (4), and Michael Ethan (1), husband Juan Jose Nevarez, parents Jose and Haide Barraza, siblings Claudia Barraza Avilez, Marizela Barraza, and Jose Barraza, Jr., and four nieces.
