Lillian Irene McCray passed away peacefully in Glendale, AZ. on December 11, 2013. Lillian was born on April 3, 1941 to Lillian and Simon Hill in St. Louis, Mo. She was married for 17 years and has five daughters by her ex-husband, John H. McCray Jr. She was raised in Flint MI where she gave her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and later became a member of El-Bethel E. M.B. Church. Lillian graduated from college with a B.S.N. and had a successful and fruitful career as a RN at McLaren Hospital where she gave loving care to hundreds of patients and taught nursing at Northwestern High School in Flint, MI. She made her home in Arizona for the last five years. Lillian loved crocheting, knitting, reading and bowling.

She is survived and adored by five beautiful daughters; Doreen McCray-Pittman, Tonya Lynn McCray, Kimberly (Timothy) Abbott, Stephanie (Lynn) Smith, and Satis' Ayana McCray; 23 grandchildren Adrienne, Luther Jr (Tiffani), Derrick, Brian II, Ashley, Lauren (Jason), Sarah, Justin, Kristen, Timothy II, Nadia, Alexis, Daniel Simon, Lynnet (Steven), Armesha, Brandon, Meagan, Caleb, Charysma, Paris, Keara, Devon, Jordan;17 great grandchildren; Kayla, Kennedy, Kameron, Aniyah, Justus, Coby, Marley, Amir, Gabrielle, Malik, MacKenzie, Savion, Javon, Travis, Tanae and Armani; two sisters Erma (Samuel) Boyd and Alberta Hill; 4 nieces Dorene, Deidre, Kendra, Dionne(Kevin); 8 nephews Eric, Vincent (Etheline), Ennis (Ana), Lane, Tyrone, Shawn, Seon (Angela), Thomas(Polly) and Vince; brother in laws Donald(Cynthia) and Thomas (Francine) McCray; spiritual sisters Katherine Hill, Joyce McCray and Ms. Allison; spiritual children Gary Nichols, Mary Coleman, Sonya Poole, Tanya Lattimore, Sharon Herbin and Cynthia Williams. Special mention to the Barbee, Harden and McCloud families.

She was preceded in death by father Simon Hill and mother Lillian Hill; nephews Samuel Boyd Jr and Kevin McCray; spiritual sisters Moesa Thompson, Emma McCloud and Constance Bell. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to: Westbrook Dialysis family with special thanks to Randy, Twelve Oaks Assisted Living with special thanks to Angela and Pastor Griffin.

Funeral Services will be Friday December 20, 2013, visitation from 9:30 to 10 am, service at 10 am and burial to follow all at Heritage Sunwest Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12525 N.W. Grand Ave. El Mirage, AZ 85335.
