James William Watson passed away on February 7, 2014. Born and raised in Indiana. Married Maralee V. Hill on June 24,1945. James is the son of Constance & William H. Watson, and have preceeded him in death. James has three living sisters, Mrs. Olive Boggs, Mrs. Evelyn Moore, Mrs. Sylvia Swoverland and one living brother, Robert Watson. Four brothers and three sisters proceeded him in death. James has two children, Linda Carol Blake and Daniel Riley Watson, four Grandchildren, Joel Douglas Blake, Jeri Dee Blake, James W. Watson and Robert M. Watson. One Great Grand –daughter, Alivia Joy Watson.James was drafted into the Navy July 7, 1943, 6 weeks Great Lakes, 6 weeks Navy Pier (diesel), 6 weeks Little Creek Va. 6 weeks Fort Pierce Florida. I boarded the USS Knox (APA) at New York, sailed through Panama Canal to Hawaii. Hauled personnel and materials to the assault on Saipan also Tinian, to Leyte & Luson (Phillipines) watched McArthur & group wade ashore, then to Iwo Jima on my 20th Birthday. Visitation on Wednesday February 12, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Sunwest Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley.
