Tribute & Message From The Family

Hazel Berniece Blosser, 96, of Phoenix. As hymns were being sung by family members, our Lord very peacefully ushered Berniece into Heaven on April 24, 2014. Born in Emmett, ID on March 15, 1918, Berniece was the firstborn of Allen and Hazel Brown. In 1938 she met the love of her life, Eugene "Gene" Blosser of Vancouver, WA. They were married in 1944, while Gene was serving in the Army Air Corps. After WWII they moved to Spokane, WA, where they began raising three sons. In 1957 they moved to Phoenix, AZ. Berniece was a stay-at-home mom while the boys were in school, then she worked for the Roosevelt School District for a number of years. Throughout the years, Berniece and Gene were both very active and faithful leaders within each of the congregations they served with. They were married for 62 years before Gene passed in 2007. Berniece was a wonderful role model to all who knew her -- totally devoted to her Lord and Savior, and to her family and friends. Her Christian legacy will long be treasured. She is survived by her three sons, John (Barbara) and Jim (Ronda) of Phoenix, Mark of Black Canyon City, AZ, and two brothers, Maurice and Floyd Brown, along with 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. As well as her loving husband, preceding her in death were her parents, her sister, two brothers, and a grandson. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Sunwest Funeral Home & Cemetery, 12525 NW Grand Avenue, El Mirage, AZ 85335. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Bible Church of Phoenix, www.gracebiblechurchofphoenix.org/giving/ or Hospice of the Valley, www.hov.org .
